October 3 Update: The Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners issued a notice in the Missouri Register, indicating the fee increases are adopted as proposed below.
The Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners (Board) issued proposed rules (page 889) that would increase cosmetology fees for barbers, cosmetologists, instructors, establishments, students, and other miscellaneous requests. The proposal is based on the Board’s recent five-year financial analysis and the board voted to increase multiple license fees as a result to balance budgetary needs.

Professional License Fees
- Barber license renewal: $60 (currently $50)
- Cosmetology operator renewal: $60 (currently $50)
- Operator renewal: $120 (currently $60)
- Barber license reinstatement: $90 (currently $80)
- Cosmetology operator reinstatement: $90 (currently $80)
- Operator reinstatement: $150 (currently $90)
- Barber inactive license: $30 (currently $20)
- Cosmetology operator inactive license: $30 (currently $20)
- Operator inactive license: $30 (new)
Instructor Fees
- Barber instructor license renewal: $60 (currently $30)
- Cosmetology instructor renewal: $60 (currently $30)
- Barber instructor license reinstatement: $90 (currently $50)
- Cosmetology instructor reinstatement: $90 (currently $60)
- Barber instructor inactive license: $30 (currently $12.50)
- Cosmetology instructor inactive license: $30 (currently $12.50)
