The Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing announced that the Utah State Hair Safety Course and Examination will be available from Prov Inc. in May 2021.
Senate Bill 87 was introduced in January 2021 during this legislative session. The bill sought to exempt from licensure individuals in Utah who shampoo, condition, dry, style, arrange, dress, hot iron, or curl the hair. On March 16, 2021, the governor signed SB 87 into law.
