You can make a difference in California by claiming your seat at the table. The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (Board) is seeking to fill three board vacancies. If you are a California-licensed barber, cosmetologist, manicurist, or establishment owner you could serve as a Board member.

You will need to submit your autobiographical information, education history, professional work experience, professional licenses and certificates, professional organizations and memberships, and answer supplementary questions. About the Board
The purpose of the Board is to serve the California public by ensuring competent practice through licensing, regulatory, and disciplinary procedures. The Board consists of 13 governor-appointed members. Board members shape the beauty and barbering industry by influencing policy direction, voting on disciplinary matters, and approving regulation. The Board holds quarterly meetings, in addition to committee meetings when necessary. Board members must commit time to review meeting materials and attend all trainings.
