It can be hard to both add dimension and cover gray at the same time. Clients can be left with solid, flat looking color, and who wants that? The Wella Professionals Luxelights technique, created by Wella Professional Global Artists Matthias Herzberg and Renya Xydis, allows you to upgrade your gray coverage service and take years off your client’s look. This technique enriches the root area with a soft shadow effect while revealing natural highs and lows within the lengths and ends, giving the illusion of natural, sunkissed, youthful hair.
The Formulas:
A. 30g BlondorPex + 45g Welloxon Perfect 6% Developer
B. 30g Koleston Perfect 55/02 + 30g Welloxon Perfect 6% Developer
C. 10g Koleston Perfect 7/18 + 10g Koleston Perfect 8/97 + 20g Welloxon Perfect 1.9% Developer + 20g Post Color Treatment
The Process:
Step 1: Divide the hair into five sections.
Step 2: Weave out large sections of hair, four foils per quarter. Paint away from the root with Formula A.
Step 3: Deepen the root area with Formula B. Apply just over the line of regrowth. Develop.
Step 4: Rinse well. Use WellaPlex #2, shampoo, and apply Blondor Blonde Seal & Care.
Step 5: For a luxury high-shine finish and soft tone, apply Formula C from root to tip on damp hair. Develop and rinse until water runs clear.
