The North Carolina Board of Barber and Electrolysis Examiners has proposed a new rule (page 21 in PDF) that affects barber instructor examinations. AHP has summarized the proposed rule for you below. Barber School Instructors (21 NCAC 06G .0103)
Applicants for apprentice and instructor barber licenses must take two types of examinations: a written and a practical. Current law states that if an applicant passes one, but fails the other, the applicant has six months to pass the failed exam. The proposed rule suggests extending the six-month deadline to three years.
Comment Deadline: April 3, 2023.
