Whether you’re driving to the salon, cleaning your house, or waiting for your kids to finish soccer practice, podcasts are a great way to learn and recharge on the go. Corey Gray and Tony Stuart have recently launched Your Day Off Podcasts to help share salon industry success stories that will educate and inspire every one of us to reach for new heights. They have quickly grown to almost 10,000 followers and invite you to subscribe for free.
Education-Based Inspiration
As founders and co-hosts, Gray and Stuart are very proud of their unique industry, and still work behind the chair with their own clients. They were first creatively inspired by podcasts from other industries. They believe every single successful hairdresser started off by sweeping hair and folding cleaned towels before really learning that the sky is the limit. They want to help us all share in everyone’s personal career story through tips, challenges, and honors. All newly recorded Your Day Off Podcasts will remain available as an educational resource for you to conveniently listen to from their new and ever-growing YDO Podcast Library.
Motivating Monthly Themes
Gray and Stuart just launched a new podcast with Aston LaFon and Angel del Solar, two of the founders of 18.21 Man Made Grooming, to share their distinctively different approach to help men with upscale products and services in salons, day spas, and barbershops. In September 2018, they will feature “Legends & Icons,” with inspiring words of wisdom from Wayne Grund, Michael Cole, Gordon Miller, Chris Baron, Kris Sorbie, and others. Their “Sober October” podcast will share trials, tribulations, and recommendations for how to restore your life and salon career after struggles with drugs, alcohol, and other challenges. One of their most interesting podcast library interviews was with John David, who was a hair designer for the mobsters.
