The Pennsylvania State Board of Massage Therapy (https://www.dos.pa.gov/ProfessionalLicensing/BoardsCommissions/MassageTh...) (the Board) is seeking an applicant to serve a term on the Board. There is currently a vacancy for a licensed massage therapist.
The Maryland State Board of Massage Therapy Examiners (https://health.maryland.gov/massage/Pages/home.aspx) (the Board) has requested ABMP to nominate professional members to serve on the Board, and we are now accepting applications from licensed massage therapists. The Board is comprised of seven members, five of which are licensed massage therapists and two of which are consumers. There are currently two vacancies.
ABMP communicated with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) on August 28, 2020, and verified that medical massage therapy is now allowed to be performed indoors, regardless of which county you are in. The CDPH stated:

The Washington Department of Licensing (DOL) (https://www.dol.wa.gov/) is proposing to increase cosmetology and other personal services fees. If the proposed revisions are adopted, the fee increases will be effective November 2020.
The Arkansas Department of Health (the Department) is proposing numerous revisions to the “Rules for Cosmetology in Arkansas.” ASCP, AHP, and ANP have summarized the changes below. The Texas Legislature passed House Bill No. 2847 (HB 2847) (https://legiscan.com/TX/text/HB2847/2019) in 2019, allowing certain barbering and cosmetology services to be scheduled through a digital network. The services must be performed by a licensed barber or cosmetologist and performed at a location not licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) as a cosmetology salon or barbershop. The bill added Section 1603.208.
The California Department of Public Health issued new guidelines for Personal Care Services on July 20, 2020, for massage therapists, estheticians, cosmetologists, and nail professionals. Outdoor hair salons also have new guidelines. In addition, the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (BBC) issued new guidance on July 20 regarding BBC licensees who intend to perform personal care services outdoors.
